Lockdown Kush is 60% sativa and was bred from the parent strains San Fernando Valley OG and Afghani #1. Lockdown Kush seeds grow compact plants with a relatively short flowering time and is a strain that grows well in warm and cool climates. Indoors it benefits from a variety of training techniques.
Despite its proportion of sativa genetics, Lockdown Kush grows broad leaves that will require some defoliation to promote air flow and good light penetration for interior buds. Plants undergo a moderate degree of stretch once flowering commences with plants finishing at 100 - 150 cm. tall indoors and perhaps a little taller when cultivated in an outdoor setting. Lockdown Kush is a good choice for growers with limited headroom.
Internodal distance is quite short resulting in the formation of dense flowering clusters. Indoor flowering takes 55 - 60 days with yields in the region of 450 gr/m2. Outdoors, each plant is capable of yielding 550 gr. or more. The buds have very swollen calyxes, amber pistils and very sticky trichomes.
The predominant scent is that of citrus with notes of pine and earth. The taste is sweet with earthy and pine notes. Its initial effect is one of uplifting euphoria followed by a muscle-relaxing body stone that is recommended for easing mild aches and pains.
