Malibu Gold OG is a 60% indica hybrid that is the product of crossing Mendo Purps with Purple Kush. This is a tall strain with a fast flowering time along with very good yields. Easy enough for novice growers but with enough quality to please cannabis connoisseurs. Nice purple shades are seen later during flowering.
Malibu Gold OG adapts well to many growing techniques and grow media. Plants are robust with large fan leaves and strong side-branches to bear the weight of the large buds. The sativa genetics are expressed in less tight internodal spacing than is seen in more indica-dominant strains as well as in the final height.
Indoors, plants can grow to a height of 120 cm. or more, producing yields of 450 - 500 gr/m2 in 45 - 55 days of flowering. Grown outdoors in sunny climates, plants can exceed 200 cm. in height and deliver yields of 600 gr/plant. Four phenotypes are likely to be found, although these are trickier to identify except for more experienced eyes. Leaves display strong autumnal shades close to harvest but the true delight is from the chunky, round purple buds that are sticky with resin. Carbon filters are recommended due to the powerful scent during flowering.
Both scent and flavour inherits qualities from both indica and sativa sides; Musky earthiness from the indica side along with a sweetness from the sativa. The effect is very motivating and is a great all-day weed, calming while also happy and euphoric.
